VAT Relief
Due to the vast majority of our products being specifically designed to aid someone who has an illness, medical condition or ailment, our customers are not required to pay any VAT on such item's.
To be exempt from paying any VAT on products that are eligible for relief, you or the person you are buying for must have a long-term illness, ailment or disability. Upon checkout of any purchase from MobilityCo, you will need to state the condition of the user.
What counts as a long-term illness or disabled?
For VAT purposes, you have a long-term illness or are disabled if you meet any of the following conditions:
- You have a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon your ability to carry out everyday activities.
- You have a condition that the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes.
- You are terminally ill.

Our team do check each sale to make sure that their is a valid medical condition stated. Please refrain from stating the likes of "Old Age" or "Broken Ankle" as our team will have to contact you to then be able to state a medical condition on your records.
Descriptions such as "Heart Condition" or "Spinal Condition" will satisfy. If you are not 100% sure, then please contact our friendly team who will be more than happy to help.

Do I have to show proof of my disability?
No, declaring that you have a medical condition or disability is self declaring. You don't need to provide any documentation or sign any forms to declare your illness or disability.

Can a business be VAT exempt?
Businesses will be charged the current rate of VAT for all items. Only the likes of charities who are purchasing the product for someone can claim VAT exemption.

Are all your products VAT exempt?
Some products will have to include VAT as mandatory. This is because these items are not classed as a medical aid and can be used in by someone without an illness or disability. For example, tables are typically VAT inclusive.

I haven't been diagnosed with anything but still need your products, what should I do?
You don't need to have been formerly diagnosed by a medical professional to declare VAT exemption. For example, a lot of our customers have arthritis due to their older age, but have not been medically diagnosed.
